Melissa Corry
Melissa Corry earned her BA in fine Art from Mississippi College with a minor in English Literature, M.A.ED. from the University of Mississippi and was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi honors society. She has been teaching for 18 years and has taught gifted art and intellectually gifted. For the past five years she has written, directed, costumed, choreographed and designed sets for a production at her elementary school. She introduces her gifted students to Shakespeare , debate & public speaking. She did scenic painting for Godspell, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, and Lifetime of Christmas at The Kroc Center and Footloose at Bartlett Performing Arts. Her artwork hangs in homes throughout the mid-south, and she has donated works to St.Jude and other organizations to auction. Her love of theatre was fostered by her mother who had a M.A. in English Literature, and loved Shakespeare. Melissa’s son and husband act, and she has been fortunate to work on sets for productions they have been in, as well as appearing on stage with her husband in A Christmas Carol The Musical at Desoto Family Theatre. Additionally, Melissa played Lady Anne and a member of the ensemble at Camelot at DFT in 2018.
