Mary Ann Washington
Mary Ann Washington is an aspiring playwright and actress from Memphis, Tn. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. Mary Ann holds an Associate of Arts degree from Southwest Tennessee Community College and is currently a student at the University of Memphis, (University College) seeking a BA in Theatre and Entrepreneurship. Her Ostrander nominations includes Best Actress in a College production for The Diviners at Southwest Tennessee Community College. In 2016-17, Mary nominations includes, Best Director in a College production for The Amen Corner. Her wins include Best Ensemble, Hattiloo Theatre, The Bluest Eye in 2012 and Best Ensemble for, Five Women Wearing The Same Dress in 2018. In 2017-18 her independent production THE SEX PLAY was nominated for a Diversity On Stage Award and in 2018 she won a Mtenzi Award for Best Stage Activist. Mary Ann performed at Hattiloo Theatre for five season 2011-16 and was part of the Hattiloo Theatre Company for two seasons. Mary has also performed for Inner City South, Bluff City Tri-Art Theatre, World Overcomers Drama Ministry and have written and directed plays for Blues City Cultural Center. Mary Ann loves for the theatre inspired her to create her youtube show, Memphis Actors Talking About on the Black Butterfly Media YouTube channel.
