Jeff posson
Jeff Posson is a local director, assistant director, actor, teacher, playwright, dramaturge and retired stage manager. Jeff is a two-time Ostrander nominated director, and a one time winner for 2018's All Saint in the Old Colony, which was part of Playhouse on the Square's New Works competition where Jeff has served on the play-reading committee for the last 3 seasons. Jeff has served as Assistant Director for three Ostrander winning musicals at Theatre Memphis (Young Frankenstein in 2013, Addams Family in 2014 and The Producers in 2015) and as a dramaturge/assistant director for Chekhov's The Seagull, King Charles III and Shakespeare in Love at Playhouse on the Square. Jeff is a former Assistant Director of Education at Playhouse on the Square where he served as head of their Summer Youth Theatre Conservatory. He has degrees in English and Theatre Arts from the University of the South at Sewanee and a master's in English Literature with a focus on Early British Literature and Poetics from the University of Memphis. His favorite play is Hamlet.
